Cinemas best spies
Everyone has their favourite spy -a person who’ll overcome all obsticles to do whats needed for their country. Here’s alook at the spies who help to keep us safe from evil maniacs bent on world domination.
James Bond- How could we do this list without mentioning the original cinema spy himself? Can always be found with a martini in hand, a beautiful women in the other hand and q’s finest gadgets, 007 always got the job done with style. People may argue who was the best man to play him, but they never question the characters status as a super spy in the first place. When we think of Spies, the first person we think of isJames Bond, maybe because nobody does it better.
Harry Palmer- Micheal Caine played this spy. Working on the other side of the world to Bond, Palmers missions were the complete opposite of Bonds- and so was Palmer. Nowhere near as flashy, without Bond’s background, looks and sporting glasses, what Palmer did know what to do was get the job done, which he did in 5 films.
Austin Powers- The 60’s grooviest spy who was frozen and defrosted in the 90s to fight his arch nemises Doctor Evil. Powers is a send up of all the great spy movies, with Palmers glasses and Bonds gadgets, but with a charm all of his own. The mission would be successful, but not without a good laugh or twelve on the way. The movies has carved out a following of their own for the shagadelic super spy as well as paying tribute to the other great spy movies.
Jason Bourne. It took alot of money and training to make him the best at what he can do, but the Bourne films begin with him close to death and with amensia. Bond didnt adapt greatly to the new millenuim, but Bourne slotted in brilliantly, blending into the crowd to work, but not above acting when the moment called for it. Attacked by the agency who trained him over the three movies, Bourne was always one step ahead.
